The Book of Revelation is So Scary!
All of our lives we were afraid to even hear the word Revelation mentioned in a Biblical sense. This fear has been perpetrated by ministers who say we don’t have to know what the book of Revelation says because we won’t be here. Of course, this implies that the things that are written of are so horrific that we, as God’s elect or chosen ones, should not have to go through such things. However; we have no problem with believing that others are going to suffer through it. After all it is written down for someone, isn’t it?
Our fear and anxiety stems from the imagery that is created by the negative connotations of the symbolisms and the euphemisms that are used to teach us throughout the Word of God. If we open our minds to understand the symbolism, then the fear is replaced with beautiful peace and participation in God’s plan.
Words and phrases such as: hail, fire, smoke, brimstone, sword, lightnings, thunderings, light, rain, hidden manna, mingled with blood, plagues, noisome and grievous sore, wormwood, earthquake, wine, oil, morning star, lake of fire, etc., are euphemisms for God’s truth and glory.
Words and phrases such as: hurt, torment, scorch, kill, slay, burnt up, turn to blood, hunger, serpents’ bites, scorpions’ stings, conquering, a sharp sickle, cast into a lake of fire, etc., are euphemisms for HOW the truth and glory of God “offends” those who will not repent.
Words and phrases such as: candlesticks, stars, four beasts, mountains, temple of God, locusts, serpents, witnesses, angels, trees, grass, sea, lamps, seven spirits, seven eyes, kings, priests, clouds, waters, New Jerusalem, bride, pillars, gates, wall, pearls, armies, etc.; are euphemisms for believers who uphold the truth and glory of God.
The only thing for anyone to fear about the book of Revelation or any of God's Holy Word is if we do not OBEY and REPENT as we have been commanded by our Heavenly Father!
